The ORTSOC program provides us a knowledgeable and capable additional layer of security that is invaluable to our small jurisdiction. Having support from a regional partner, knowing someone is monitoring, and providing real-life experience to the future IT generation goes along with our jurisdiction's values. The ORTSOC partnership benefits everyone involved!
- Information Services Director, Small City
We really appreciate ORTSOC and being a part of this program. We serve a lot of economically disadvantaged youth in the schools we support and don't have the personnel or resources to properly monitor cyber security in our IT resources. We are very grateful for ORTSOC to fill this need in [our county]. Dave and his team have been great to work with in rolling out their services and we hope to work with them for a long time to come.
- IT Director, Small School District
We are thrilled to partner with OSU and the ORTSOC, allowing [our college] to continue its journey towards a more mature cybersecurity stance that enables a safe and secure infrastructure for our faculty, staff, and students. We are looking forward to continuing to find ways to support our own communities as well as ensure students get real-world experience in helping organizations stay safe.
- Chief Information Officer, Medium Community College
The purpose of ORTSOC is to provide security services to smaller government, non-profit, or higher-education organizations that cannot support their own SOC. Our requirements are that an organization must have at least one IT professional at the organization: we cannot provide IT services or fixes for issues we encounter. Fees for services depend on the size of the organization. If you have questions about fees, please reach out to us for more information.
ORTSOC has chosen a consortium model for delivery of services to constituency organizations. All organizations are eligible to join the consortium and participate in information sharing, research, and innovation activities. Consortium members will have a common communication platform with other consortium members as well as current ORTSOC students and alumna. Members will receive regular threat intelligence bulletins and be invited to security job fairs with ORTSOC students.
Organizations must be Consortium members and meet eligibility requirements to receive services. ORTSOC's core services are Network Security Monitoring, Incident Analysis, and Incident Response Coordination.
Some ORTSOC services are provided as single engagements, including: Security Assessments, Forensics, and Penetration Testing. These engagements can be repeated as needed.
